Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry

“May the favor of the Lord our God be ours. Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands!” Psalm 90:17

Shawls and lap blankets are used for more than keeping warm. They can become symbols of caring and compassion. These handmade works can help a person feel loved and remembered.

Members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry prayerfully knit and crochet shawls and lap blankets which are given to people in the community who may be going through life changing events. These shawls and lap blankets are shared with those who may be suffering or struggling with health issues or experiencing chronic illness. A blanket may be particularly helpful for a child who is hospitalized. The shawls and lap blankets from this ministry can be requested by anyone in the parish. The Ministry of Care also distributes prayer shawls and lap blankets through their ministry.

Members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 12:30 – 2:20 PM in Classroom #7. Donations of yarn and supplies are always welcome. Members do not need to be present at meetings to contribute their work. For more information contact the parish office.
